Myofascial Decompression (MFD) AKA Cupping

Myofascial Decompression (MFD), or negative pressure therapy, is a form of soft tissue work that uses vacuum cups and a pneumatic pump to improve movement of the body. This method is used to improve the way the muscles and connective tissue “glide” across each other, decrease the tone in muscles to improve flexibility and to decrease the perception of pain. It is a great way to feel immediate changes in your movement and to look like some of the athletes shown here! Just remember to follow it up with some exercises to retain the improvements! Feel free to ask our physical therapist, Daisuke Saiki, PT, DPT, if you have any questions regarding this technique or if you want to try it out.
